In this lesson, having looked at the great heroes of faith, Pastor Hille asks the question: "How then do we walk by faith?" The answer comes to us in Hebrews 12: "Looking Unto Jesus". Try as we may, we will never be able to walk by faith except we look to Jesus.

In this lesson, Pastor Hille begins to conclude the study of practical faith or living by faith from the series in Hebrews 11. There are really only two things that the child of God can do: please God or draw back. The Scriptures exhort us to walk by faith, live by faith that we might be pleasing unto the Lord who saved us. We encourage each one to listen to this sermon.

Cruel Deaths

In this message, Pastor Hille brings out the great and glorious truth of walking by faith and leaving the end result in God's hands. There were those who walked by faith and were delivered, others were merely mocked and beaten. Here these were killed for the cause and stand in the Lord. The difference? The Lord. He may do with His own as He sees fit. Furthermore, it is Christ Jesus who has experienced this very thing! He was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. What kind of God would do such a thing as subject His servants to such a cruel death? The same God who offered His only begotten Son in a cursed and cruel death so that these might become His servants! May the Lord apply these truths to our lives. May we have the same mind set as our Lord and Savior: thy will be done!

In this message, Pastor Hille brings out the great truth that faith in God enabled these saints to endure the trials of cruel mockings, scourgings, bonds and imprisonment. Oh that the Lord would see fit to embolden us, His people, and His church to live for Him by faith

Obtained a Better Resurrection

In this lesson, Pastor Hille shows from God's Word that there were those who were tortured, yet refused to be delivered by their tormentors when they would deny the Lord. Rather, they walked by faith and trusted in the Lord. In this lesson, we see that the Holy Spirit makes a comparison between these who walked by faith and were tortured and those who walked by faith and were victorious in this life. Pastor Hille brings out that it is our duty to be faithful. God will bring about the end of which He desires: whether it be victory in this life, or whether it be a better resurrection.

In this lesson, Pastor Hille gives and introductory lesson to Hebrews 11:35-38. The Holy Spirit lays out the sufferings of Faith. While these here had as much faith as the others who were delivered, these were not delivered, but rather they were enabled to endure those cruel trials of their faith and did not waver from the truth, no not even one hair breadth away. We pray this series continues to be a study in which God is helping you in your walk with Him.

We come to the final message and we see the Lord fulfilling His word. The enemies are destroyed and a great spoil of physical and spiritual wealth became Judah's. May this be an encouragement to our faith in Him.

In this lesson, Pastor Hille expounds 2 Chronicles 20:9-13 showing the act or acts of faith of king Jehoshaphat, king of Judah. We see Jehoshaphat's genuine faith by the works that were produced in Jehoshaphat's doings at this time. Jehoshaphat had no plan "b", he was going to walk by faith, doing what God had said. Jehoshaphat's works cooperated by his faith; faith reached it supreme expression when it implements right and biblical works. His faith took hold of God's Word and king Jehoshaphat ordered his life accordingly. We pray that this lesson provokes each one to take hold of God and His word.

We continue our study of the exploits of faith. In this lesson, Pastor Hille expounds the phrase "Turned To Flight The Armies of The Aliens". Pastor Hille brings out the great truth that this was all done by trusting the Lord. By taking God at His word, those who were strangers, foreigners, lost, enemies of God were made to turn, to go away, to bow, to lay down and become powerless. After expounding God's Word in the text, 2 examples are given: (1) Joshua 10:1-12 where Joshua defeats the armies of the Amorites by faith. Pastor Hille brings out the word of God, The faith of Joshua, the turning to flight of the armies of the aliens. (2) Acts 18:1-17 where the apostle Paul turned to flight the armies of the aliens by faith. Again, The word of God, the faith of Paul and the result of God's Word is brought out. May our faith increased. May we be encouraged to take God at His word and to rely solely and wholly upon Him, for He is All-Powerful; and all the promises of God are in Him yea, and in Him amen.

In this lesson Pastor Hille lays before us the example of "One Who Waxed Valiant in Fight through faith". Eleazar, one of David's Mighty men, is probably little known to you. If you are familiar with any Eleazar it is probably Aaron's son, who became high priest of Israel upon Aaron's death. This is not the same person!!! We pray that you will be much encouraged by this individual who did great exploits in defeating the Philistines as he waxed valiant in the fight through faith

In this lesson, Pastor Hille expounds the subject of the spiritual warfare that we are in that the Holy Spirit speaks of here. Just as many Old Testament saints fought physically against the enemies of God, they also fought spiritually against the enemies of God. Pastor Hille notes that our enemies are: The world, the flesh, and the devil. We pray that this lesson is a great help to you in your spiritual warfare as you war by faith as these did of long ago.

In This Lesson, Pastor Hille expounds the phrase of Hebrews 11:34--"Out of Weakness Were Made Strong". These here were given strength and taken out of physical infirmities, unlike Paul who was given grace in the physical infirmity. All of this was done "Through Faith". May God give a listening ear to hear what the Spirit saith.

In this lesson, Pastor Hille deals with the subject of by faith or through faith these escaped the edge of the sword. It is through the exercising of faith that this was done. In the course of the lives of these individuals as they served the Lord these individuals and the prophets were faced with the edge of the sword. But by staying the course, by keeping the faith, by doing what God says and not worrying about the sword or many other things, they escaped the edge of the sword. We pray that the Lord will use this message to grow your faith in Him.

In this message, Pastor Hille expounds the Scriptures and exhorts God's people with the Word of the Lord to Quench the violence of fire by faith. The reference the Holy Spirit uses in Hebrews is solely and wholly the three Hebrew children who were cast into the fiery furnace in Babylon, but were unharmed. This was all accomplished by faith. The child of God will be assaulted by fires. We cannot avoid the fire, but we can quench the violence of it by faith. We pray that you give listen to this message and adhere to these principles brought out by Pastor Hille.

By Faith Stopped The Mouths of Lions

In this lesson, Pastor Hille deals with the phrase by faith "...stopped the mouths of lions". Children of God should be aware that there are 4 legged lions and 2 legged lions. What are the characteristics of lions? They walk, roar, seek whom they may devour, they are ferocious animals, strong and powerful, fast and cunning. Our adversary Satan is referred to as a lion. Pastor Hille lays out before the church how we must follow the example of Christ, Daniel, and countless others who have shut the mouths of lions by faith in the Lord and in His word. May God be pleased with this message to the praise and glory of His Name.

In this lesson, Pastor Hille expounds the promises of God. Using many thoughts from Spurgeon's sermon #435 "obtained promises", Pastor Hille shows that there are Unconditional and conditional promises. The promise of salvation is an unconditional promise of God. There are many promises to God's people that have conditions. It is incumbent upon us, His people, to obtain these promises. We pray this is a blessing to you.

Obtained Faith

In this message, Pastor Hille notes that alone by faith promises of God are obtained. The promises of God are all based upon the grace of God. There are many promises that are waiting for God's people to pluck them from the tree by faith. What ails us? A lack of faith. In this lesson, Abraham and Elijah are pointed to as the ensamples written for our admonition. Pastor Hille notes the usage of the word "obtain" and contrasts it with "receive". The word obtain implies an exertion on the part of the one who obtains the promise. We are not to sit as bumps upon a log and expect these promises to be obtained. We pray the Lord will use this message in your life.

By Faith Wrought Righteousness

In this lesson, Pastor Hille observes that these saints of old "wrought righteousness" by faith. They worked righteousness or they did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord. The first thing that should be noted is that these had to be made righteous by the Lord in order to do righteous. This is only done by faith in Christ Jesus. The doing of righteousness is not only in these great exploits of the Heroes of Faith, but in the every day lives of children of God who choose to do that which is right according to God's standards. In the life of the kings we find two key phrases: they did evil in the eyes of the Lord or they did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord. So too can every child of God in their daily lives at home, at work, in social setting, in their church life, in their prayer life, in every aspect of their lives--we are to do that which is right (in the eyes of the Lord). This will only be done by faith.

Subdued Kingdoms By Faith

In this lesson Pastor Hille addresses the struggling against, fighting, and conquering against those kingdoms in our lives. We have left for us an example that we might be admonished in these Old Testament saints who warred like mighty men of valor in the good fight of faith. While the kingdoms they faced were physical (as well as spiritual), we face spiritual ones. We are not called upon to take up physical arms, but spiritual arms against those kingdoms or dominions that would seek to bring us under their rule. Are you at present afflicted by the kingdoms of fear, anxiety, anger, wrath, malice, hatred, ungodliness, etc? Are you struggling, warring, fighting against them? Only by faith will you overcome.

Victorious Faith

We are told that the walls of Jericho came down by faith. And so they did. The Lord brought Israel into the promised land and he brings them to a fortified city whose walls were as high as heaven. Yet by faith, victorious faith, these walls fell flat. Pastor Hille examines what was seen by sight and compares it to what was seen by faith. The "strange" battle plan handed down to Joshua by God was the only way in which victory would be secured. Are there not "Jericho" cities in our own lives? These walls will only fall down by faith in the same manner! In this lesson, we observe that the command is given to Joshua for all the people to work. The priests had a work, the men of war had a work, the people had a work. Beloved, today--everyone who is saved by the grace of God is referred to as a "priest", we have all been given the armor of God, and everyone who is saved are "His people". So everyone of us has a work appointed to us that can only be done by faith. God has given us Divinely appointed means to carry out this work. Though it seems "foolish" unto the flesh, victory will come by faith. This is a must listen for each an every child of God.

In this lesson, Pastor Hille takes note of the circumstances surrounding Israel when God led them through the Red Sea. They were completely surrounded, they had no ability in and of themselves, but the LORD was with them. The Lord gave command for them to "Go Forward" even though the sea had yet to be parted that they might walk on dry ground. Yet by the bold exploits of faith they were able to "Go Forward". God had led them to this place for the very purpose of manifesting His glorious power. So too, we like Israel of old, have been led by God's word to the place we are in and by the bold exploits of faith we shall see His deliverance. Sinners as well as saints, are exhorted with God's Word to trust the Lord and faithfully follow Him as His word commands.

The Practice of Faith

In this message, we have the practice of Faith. We find that Moses and the children of Israel practiced what they believed. Their actions revealed what they believed. The passover night in Egypt stand before us that Moses led the people to practice what God had said unto them. The blood upon the door posts and lintel was not what saved them. It was the Lord as indicated in Exodus. The blood manifested that they believed God. No work that a man does has ever saved him. Here Moses and Israel practiced what God said. Do we do the same? Do we practice, to we keep, observe, do as the Lord has stated in His word? Are we faithfully following on after Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light? The exhortation given in this message is very strong. Oh that we as God's people might live the simple life of faith.

In This lesson, Pastor Hille expounds the faith of Moses. What appears as cowardice outwardly, the Holy Spirit describes as an act of Faith on Moses part. In military actions, this would be called a tactical retreat. Here we are told that Moses forsook , not because he was afraid of pharaoh, but because it was as God would have him to. When and what have we fled or forsook by faith? There are places, people, ideologies, false doctrines that we must flee from because they are contrary to the word of God. Search and examine yourself as to your flight...is it according to faith or fear?

Choosing To Do By Faith

In this message, the just are exhorted to live by faith, not by sight. Pastor Hille expounds the faith of Moses. Just as Moses chose to refuse three things; Moses chose to do by faith as well. In this we are exhorted by the example of Moses to make our decisions by faith (that is taking God at His word). These were not small decisions, but major ones. We must not look to ourselves, nor to others, nor to our feelings, but we must look at what does God's Word say. Then we must choose to follow Him. As a child of God we have the duty, the ability, the responsibility to choose this day whom we will serve. How are you making your decisions? What have you chosen to do by faith?

Choosing To Refuse By Faith

In this lesson Pastor Hille exhorts God's people to choose, not by sight, nor by feeling, nor by financial prosperity, but by faith. The question proposed: "What have I refused by faith?" is one we all must answer. As Paul stated that all things are lawful unto him but all things are not of edification. Paul refused by faith. Christ refused things according to God's word. So too are you and I. Oh that you might suffer the word of exhortation and choose to refuse by faith even as Moses did.

Fear Overcame By Faith

"What Are You Afraid of?" In this lesson, Pastor Hille, being led of the Lord, deals with the subject of fear. Moses' parents were not afraid of the king's commandment because faith in what God had said squashed the fear of man. Throughout this message, we are challenged by the word of God to overcome our fears by faith in the Lord, His might, and His Word. So..."What are you afraid of?" Are you afraid to call upon the name of the Lord for salvation? Are you afraid to follow the Lord in Scriptural Baptism putting your lamp upon the lamp stand? Are you afraid to serve the Lord in and thru His church? Are you afraid to use the Lord's money for the Lord's work thinking that money will be your safety net? Are you afraid to walk by faith and not by sight? Are you afraid of a nameless dread and fear? Your fears will only be swallowed up by faith in Christ. At the close of the message, Pastor Hille gives an outline for application of faith to our fears from Psalm 34:4. We highly recommend that if you are dealing with any and all fears that you give a listen to this message and take heed to thus saith the Lord. Maran-atha. Amen.

Dying, Dead & Yet Living By Faith

In this lesson, Pastor Hille speaks about the importance of death in the lives of each of these patriarchs. Abraham willingly offered his only begotten son, Isaac, upon the altar. So too are we commanded to willingly offer upon the altar. Isaac's eyes were dead. So often our physical sight gets in the way of our spiritual sight. Jacob was dying yet worshipped the Lord. So too, if we are to worship the Lord, we must die to self. Joseph, died, yet gave commandment concerning his bones. We are to die to self, taking up our cross daily and following him, and giving commandment to our bodies that it might be under subjection to the will of God.

In this sermon, we examine the faith of Jacob as He worshiped God leaning upon his staff while he was dying. And examination of both Jacob's worship and ours according to faith as well as "leaning upon his staff" and its implication to us as God's people today.

Declaring Faith

In this lesson we observe that faith overcame many obstacles in the lives of Isaac and Jacob. In the case of Isaac, it over came tradition and natural affection. In Isaac's day it was a patriarchal society. The Husbands were the religious leaders of the family, but were also the priests. The eldest son was normally blessed simply because he was the eldest. It is noted that Esau, the eldest was also "loved" by Isaac. But it was the revealed will of God that the "elder (Esau) shall serve the younger (Jacob)" Gen.25:23. Hebrews 11:20 reveals to us that Isaac pronounced the blessing upon Jacob by faith. Although he was deceived, God was not. And Isaac, a holy man of old, spake as he was led by the Holy Spirit of God (2Pet.1:20,21). Thus, he told Esau, "and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed." Isaac, by faith, understood that it was according the will of God. Faith overcame the traditions of the world as well as his own natural affections. In the case of Jacob, his faith also overcame tradition, but also the displeasure of his own son, Joseph. Joseph desired for Manasseh to be blessed above Ephraim. But this was not the will of the Lord. By faith Jacob, like Isaac declared by faith. His faith overcame the displeasure of family. Jacob's faith overcame human authority as Joseph was most powerful man in the world. May God grant us faith to overcome as well.

Faith Tried and Exercised

This lesson expounds the faith of Abraham tried and exercised. God commands Abraham to offer up Isaac, the promise of God. Abraham does so by faith because he accounted, or reckoned, or judged that God was able to raise Isaac up from the dead. You and I have been given the gift of life, eternal life which is the promise of God to all who believe. But this life that we now have in Christ Jesus, is to be offered up unto God. We are to offer our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service (Romans 12:1,2). In this lesson, we are exhorted to do so by looking, accounting, judging reckoning that God is able to raise us up in Christ Jesus (of which Scriptural baptism is a picture of).

Faithful Until Death

In this lesson, Pastor Hille, expounds the principles of the faith that caused these saints of old to live a life of faithfulness to the Lord awaiting the promise of God. These saw the promise of God afar off by faith. Furthermore, they embraced the promises of God; confessed plainly, that they were awaiting the Lord to fulfill promises with their lives and words. These were not mindful of the country of which they had left, but desired the better--the heavenly country. Oh, that these key elements be found in our faith that we may be faithful until death even as these.

The Strength of Faith

In this message we examine Hebrews 11:11,12. In these verses we find that the faith of Sarah is interjected into the middle of the discourse of Abraham's faith. In this message we examine: 1) The difficulties of Sarah's faith; 2) The acting of Sarah's faith; and 3) The fruit or rewards of Sarah's faith. In examining Sarah's faith--we find that the difficulties of Sarah's faith are the same as ours. That which led to her faith will be the same as ours. The reward or fruit of her faith will be the same as ours--"receive strength" according to the promise.
