And Christ Himself personally undertook the responsibility to transact our eternal inheritance. 2nd – Boaz married Ruth and delivered her from being married to "the close relative". Even so, we as believers are delivered from the law. And then 3rd – Boaz the kinsman-redeemer had a child with Ruth who would stand in the line of the Christ, who would be born the Redeemer of all of God's people. And we, upon whom the ends of the world have come, can benefit from it greatly. It is the story of God's bringing earthly security and happiness to two of His chosen people; a mother and her daughter. The greatest security that Naomi could ever have given to Ruth in her earthly life, was sought for and found on this night when she sent Ruth down to the threshing floor where Boaz was. I have already stated to you that it is my belief that Boaz is an eminent type of our Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ. I also believe that Ruth is an eminent type of the believer who wants to know God better. In these verses she is the type of every believer who wants to bear fruit for God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Naomi is the picture of all Christian mothers who would like to find security for their Christian daughter. If you as mothers would have your Christian daughter bear fruit to God in the way that she lives her life, then you must do as Naomi did. You must teach her to go to the threshing floor of prayer and to have secret dealings with Christ. This, I believe, is the way not only for Christian daughters to bear fruit to God, but it is also the way for all of us as Christians to bear fruit to God. Even as Boaz was a man of wisdom and compassion, and wealth of earthy riches, even so, our Lord Jesus Christ is a Man of wisdom and compassion and wealth in heavenly riches to give to everyone who takes refuge in the shadow of His wings. Even as God providentially ordered all things for good to Naomi and Ruth through Boaz' loving actions; even so He order all things for good, through our Lord Jesus Christ's loving actions towards us. The proposition of this sermon is this: All believers in our Lord Jesus Christ ought to trust in the providence of God to order all things for their good and for the good of their godly children; through faith in the provision of Christ. Loyalty to your mother is very important in every family, whether you are a Christian or not. But loyalty to her can only be seen and manifested in the highest sense, if God's grace is at work in your heart as it was in Ruth. Ruth had what I would call, a righteous loyalty.
