Boast Only in the Cross

What are you living for? Where do you run when your heart is vulnerable? What do you look to prove to yourself that you matter? What is it in your life that assures that you aren't a nobody? What do you hold on to when you doubt yourself? How do you know your life matters? How do you know you haven't waisted your life? That thing is your "boast". Gal. 6:14 is such a powerful declaration, "But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world." As we conclude studying the book of Galatians, we find Paul summarizing the message of the entire book. Outline: What is the book of Galatians all about? 1. Salvation by Faith & Works is a Counterfeit Gospel 2. Salvation by Faith Alone is the Real Gospel

What role do I play in my Christian relationships?

How does Scripture instruct us to live in relationship with other believers? This passage really helps believers live out their Christian walks especially when going through difficult times. 1. My role is to restore! 2. My role is to reflect! 3. My role is to remember!

Do you struggle to make real lasting change in your life? Do you have sins that you can't seem to break the habit? Gal 5 gives wonderfully practical instruction in how to participate with the Holy Spirit in being really and truly changed. 1. Identify the Works of the Flesh 2. Identify the Fruit of the Spirit 3. Crucify the Flesh 4. Keep in Step with the Spirit

We live in a day when false views on the gospel are rampant. As Paul says in this passage, "A little leaven leavens the whole lump." Even the tiniest little modification of the gospel renders it no gospel at all. In this sermon, we look at how do me protect ourselves and our families from being deceived.

Are all faiths created equal? Does it matter what you place your faith in? As we look at today's passage, we see that faith in Christ brings freedom and love, but faith in anything else leads only to sin and death.

Can you imagine ending a conversation with the line, "Have I then become your enemy by telling you the truth?" Many of us rarely ever take risks to boldly love others. Some don't build relational capital while others rarely cash in the relational capital they have. Is either true of you? In this passage in Galatians, we see Paul doing both. Paul's example is helpful to parents of how we can boldly love our teenagers and everyone boldly love those around them.
